Finally - Brina is here!

Well! Where to start?! :)

We had our little girl Brina Annalee McKee on Monday, 10 May 2010! We went in to see my doctor for a regularly scheduled 38 week appointment. He saw in the ultrasound that her head was indeed in the birth canal, (explaining all of the pressure I was feeling and the many trips to the bathroom!), and then discovered I was already 6 cm dilated! So he sent us up to the labor and delivery ward to prepare for the rest of labor.

I was admitted to L&D around 2:30pm, and had Brina at 11:18pm. Active labor was just barely an hour. Luckily for me, the whole labor was very calm and went incredibly smooth. I had 3 great nurses, and of course my doctor was amazing. (He was so great my entire pregnancy, so this was no surprise!) The only worry we had was at the very end when Brina's right shoulder got stuck--but the doc was able to hook his finger under her underarm and pull her out.

Brina was born weighing 6 pounds and 14 ounces, and she was 20 inches long. She really could not be more perfect!

Patiently Waiting!

We had these maternity photos done today. We were really pleased at how these turned out, since they are the first professional photos Matt and I have ever done! A little silly, since we have been together for over 5 years! Hopefully when Brina gets older she will see just how happy we were to be having her. :) I am so lucky to have such an amazing, (and handsome!) husband and a baby girl on the way, too! I had to fight the tears when we first saw them.
*They look better in person. Maybe some will be put in the mail on Monday? ;)

Baby Shower Time :)

Matt's Aunt Sue threw us an amazing baby shower yesterday! We had great food, fun people, and were given some very thoughtful gifts. We had such a great time!

Just when we thought we had gotten through the shower without getting emotional, Sue told everyone the significance behind the hyacinth table centerpieces. Everyone was to take one home with them, plant them, and since they will come back every year we would each have a flower for baby Brina. Oh yeah, the waterworks came then!! Matt and I both were so touched by such a sweet gesture. :)

Brina's room!

Three diaper bags--one for daycare, and one for both Mommy and Daddy's cars. :) Of course, Matt's will be the man looking one on the right. He's too cool for pink. :)
Some of the really cute picture frames we have received.
Grandma Sue (Matt's Aunt) bought Brina's rocking chair! It is incredibly comfy and is going to get a lot of use.
My sister Jessica bought Brina her car seat. We are going to go down to the fire station to have them help show us how to install it properly in the baby-mobile! (aka my Toyota Highlander)
Grandma Cathy bought Brina her incredibly cute bouncer and it has been the only thing Matt did not put together so far. (Go Mom!) The animals on it are so adorable and match the room's jungle theme.
Ummm....Matt ninja'd my photo. Let's hope Brina doesn't get her moves from her Daddy~!
Matt hung the curtains today, and put the rocking chair and car seat together.

So this is Brina's room so far. It seems to finally be coming together, especially now that we have her curtains hung up to block out the light when she is sleeping. I got a little choked up in the room today because I just can't believe that my baby peanut is going to be here in just 10 weeks! It seems like a long time but I know it is going to be here faster than I'll be ready for. I cannot wait to meet her! Thankfully, Matt has been an awesome handy man or this room would not look like this!
